Places of interest
There exist countless walking trails, which can also be explored by bicycle . They are a splendid way to discover the breathtaking beauty of the valleys. We will provide you with all necessary information in our house.

The Leitosa and the ironfactory of Somoza:
The Leitosa is, after the goldmine Las Medulas, the most important gold-bearing Roman Mine of the Bierzo. Besides, it is located next to our Inn! We dispose of a circular walking trail, which leads through the amazing viewpoints Teso Dórrego and Las Traviesas, from which one can behold the magnitude of the mine. Halfway there is a picnic area with barbecue amongst the ruins of an old ironfactory. The factory was built at the beginning of the 19th century. Due to the French invasion in 1809 the factory was never finished. Today the ruins blend harmoniously with the old Oaks, that surround the place.
Campo del Agua:
At a height of 1300m Campo del Agua is the village which offers the most traditional stone shacks of the valley of Burbia.

Burbia:
It is the valleys biggest village, which at the same time has the most traditional restored houses. From there you can march through the Villousa-lakes, which are a natural refuge of the brown bear and where the river Burbia has its origin, at a height of almost 1600 metres.
O Campano:
In Villar de Acero, where two rivers melt with the burbia, grows an old chestnut wood, where you can find the Campano, one of the oldest (estimated 800 years) and biggest chestnut trees of Europe!

The Fombasallá hermitage:
The hermitage, which lies at a height of 1200metres, offers a magnificent view over the southern ranges of Los Ancares. A big feast is celebrated every year at the 14th of August, which lasts until the morning hours. Many spent the night at the hermitage, to assist at the church fair of Nuestra Señora de Fombasallá.
